Pool Decks & Pool Deck Coatings for Jacksonville properties

Jacksonville homeowners from Jacksonville Historic District and Bybee Corner to the edge of town call us for pool deck repairs, slip-resistant pool deck coatings, resurfacing and deck extensions, and every job starts with a free estimate.

On the hillside lots here, steps, walkways, retaining walls and drainage do a lot of the work, and older homes often have original concrete and masonry worth restoring rather than tearing out.

A customer wrote about their pool deck extension & resurfacing on Google: “We hired Tim to extend our pool deck and resurface our existing pool deck. Tim is reliable and is very knowledgeable.”

What's included

Pool Decks & Pool Deck Coatings we do in Jacksonville

  • 01

    Crack and spall repair

Cracks are filled by epoxy injection or routed and sealed, and spalled, pitted spots are patched before any coating goes on.

  • 02

    Slip-resistant coatings

Textured coating systems, including colored quartz sand, give wet, bare feet real grip around the water.

  • 03

    UV-stable topcoat

A clear polyurethane or polyaspartic topcoat protects the color from strong summer sun and splashed pool water.

  • 04

    Coping and expansion joints

The joint between the deck and the pool coping gets a flexible sealant, so water stays out and the deck can move without cracking the coating.

  • 05

    Deck extensions and new pours

We add on to existing decks and pour new sections on a compacted base with rebar, then coat old and new together so they read as one deck.

  • 06

    Spa and hot tub slabs

We pour spa slabs beside the pool. Customers mention one built heavier than other bids, with a thicker beam, bigger rebar and a compacted crushed-rock base.

Jackson County

Pool Decks & Pool Deck Coatings around Jacksonville

We work all over Jacksonville — near Jacksonville Historic District, Bybee Corner and Britt Garden County Park and out by Bellinger Hill — and throughout Jackson County.

Jacksonville is a historic gold-rush town west of Medford whose downtown is a National Historic Landmark. Jacksonville is about 23 miles south of Shady Cove, well inside our 40-mile service area.

Concrete in Southern Oregon takes strong summer sun, wet winters and frost on the colder nights, and parts of the Rogue Valley sit on clay that moves with the seasons. New concrete holds up when it sits on a compacted base with steel where it needs it, sheds water away from the house and has joints cut where cracks are meant to go. A coating holds up when the surface under it is ground or blasted clean first.

What our customers say

  • “I hired Concrete Coating Enterprises LLC to do extensive concrete work on my family’s historic 1920s log cabin, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The cabin had significant cracks and issues with its original concrete floors. They removed the damaged sections, properly prepared the foundation, and poured new concrete in the kitchen and dining areas. They also created beautiful custom brick landings, curved steps, and charcoal-colored concrete walkways incorporating original natural stones from our family property. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are outstanding! What I appreciated just as much as the quality of their work was their excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism. They showed up when expected, kept me informed throughout the project, listened to my ideas, and worked with me to achieve the look I wanted. Renovating a cabin over 100 years old comes with unexpected challenges, and they handled the work with care, patience, and pride.”

  • “I had collected about three or four different estimates and Tim's price was lowest. I determined to see why it was lowest and see if I could endure that. Instead, what I discovered is Tim's job was way more than anybody else was offering instead of setting a 6 inch beam in my Spa slab. He said a 12 inch beam and he increased the rebar to half inch. But it really impressed me was another job he did for me on the sidewalk where the same as with the spa he used 4 inches of crushed rock compacted before he lay his forms out and then instead of using wire he actually use rebar. Basically he's an old-fashioned guy working in today's times where his work is more important than his profits.”

  • “Tim was undoubtedly our best choice for a concrete floor on which to build a shed/storage building. They not only arrived on time and as promised, but their staff was always very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Best of all, they did an exceptional job. In the end, the concrete floor turned out even better than we expected, and they also left our backyard spotless after packing up all their tools. We would definitely hire Concrete Coating Enterprises again and highly recommend them.”

  • “This company is very professional and finished the job quickly. Tim is honest and knowledgeable as he addressed any questions in a timely manner. He even came back a couple days after the concrete hardened and pressure washed both areas at no cost. Thank you!”

Questions

Pool Decks & Pool Deck Coatings in Jacksonville: FAQs

Do you do pool decks & pool deck coatings in Jacksonville, OR?

Yes. Jacksonville is about 23 miles south of Shady Cove, well inside our 40-mile service area. We handle pool deck repairs, slip-resistant pool deck coatings, resurfacing and deck extensions there, and the estimate is free.

Do I need a permit for pool decks & pool deck coatings in Jacksonville?

It depends on the project. When one is needed, we pull the permit from the City of Jacksonville's building department and build to whatever the permit and inspection require.

Why do pool decks crack and pit so fast in Southern Oregon?

Mostly sun, water and soil. Hot, dry summers with strong UV break down paints and sealers, wet winters soak the concrete, and frost on the valley floor and freezes at higher elevations open small cracks. In parts of the valley, expansive clay under the deck also shifts with the seasons, so we repair cracks and seal the coping joint before coating.

How much does pool deck resurfacing cost?

It depends on the size of the deck, how much crack and spall repair it needs and the coating system you choose. Resurfacing a sound deck is usually far less work than tearing it out and pouring new. We give you a free estimate after looking at the deck, and we accept credit cards.

Can you resurface a pool deck instead of replacing it?

Usually, yes. If the concrete is sound under the wear, we grind or blast it clean, repair the cracks and coat it. Sections that are heaved, broken or hollow are cut out and repoured first, so you only replace what has failed.

Will the coating be slippery or hot to walk on?

We use slip-resistant systems built for wet, bare feet, so the finish has grip even when it is splashed. Color affects how hot a deck gets in summer sun, and lighter colors generally stay cooler underfoot. We go over textures and colors during the estimate.
