Driveway Repair & Replacement

Driveway Repair & Replacement done right the first time

A driveway rarely fails all at once. It starts with a crack that widens every winter, a joint that opens up and fills with weeds, or one section lifted by a tree root until it catches a tire or a toe. Oak and pine roots, expansive clay in parts of the valley and freeze-thaw at higher elevations all work on concrete over time. The real question is what your drive needs: a repair, a section replaced or a full tear-out. The answer depends on what is happening under the slab.

Rogue Valley Concrete Pro repairs and replaces driveways across Southern Oregon. One of our jobs was a driveway section heaved by tree roots, which we removed and replaced with new concrete. We fill cracks with polyurethane or by routing and sealing, replace worn expansion joints, patch spalled surfaces, and resurface or coat a drive that is sound but tired. When a drive is past saving, we tear it out and pour new on compacted gravel with a rebar grid. Customers mention honest advice, good communication and work done on time and on budget.

What's included

Our driveway repair & replacement services

  • 01

    Crack repair

Cracks routed and sealed or filled with polyurethane so water stops getting under the slab, matched to how wide and active each crack is.

  • 02

    Heaved and sunken sections

Sections lifted by roots or settled over soft ground are cut out at the joints, the base is corrected, and new concrete is poured flush.

  • 03

    Expansion joint replacement

Old, broken joint filler comes out and new traffic-rated sealant goes in, using products from makers like Sika and Tremco.

  • 04

    Spall and surface repair

Flaking, pitted or spalled areas are patched with repair mortar so the surface is sound again.

  • 05

    Resurfacing and coatings

A drive that is structurally sound but worn can be resurfaced or coated. The concrete is ground or blasted clean first, which is what keeps the new surface down.

  • 06

    Full tear-out and replacement

When repairs no longer make sense, we break out the old drive, haul it off and pour new concrete on compacted gravel with a rebar grid.

We saw-cut and remove failed sections, correct the base, and route, fill or patch the rest of the drive.

  • “I hired Concrete Coating Enterprises LLC to do extensive concrete work on my family’s historic 1920s log cabin, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The cabin had significant cracks and issues with its original concrete floors. They removed the damaged sections, properly prepared the foundation, and poured new concrete in the kitchen and dining areas. They also created beautiful custom brick landings, curved steps, and charcoal-colored concrete walkways incorporating original natural stones from our family property. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are outstanding! What I appreciated just as much as the quality of their work was their excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism. They showed up when expected, kept me informed throughout the project, listened to my ideas, and worked with me to achieve the look I wanted. Renovating a cabin over 100 years old comes with unexpected challenges, and they handled the work with care, patience, and pride.”

  • “I had collected about three or four different estimates and Tim's price was lowest. I determined to see why it was lowest and see if I could endure that. Instead, what I discovered is Tim's job was way more than anybody else was offering instead of setting a 6 inch beam in my Spa slab. He said a 12 inch beam and he increased the rebar to half inch. But it really impressed me was another job he did for me on the sidewalk where the same as with the spa he used 4 inches of crushed rock compacted before he lay his forms out and then instead of using wire he actually use rebar. Basically he's an old-fashioned guy working in today's times where his work is more important than his profits.”

  • “We hired Tim to extend our pool deck and resurface our existing pool deck. Tim is reliable and is very knowledgeable. If you are looking for a concrete guy, Tim is your man.”

  • “Tim was undoubtedly our best choice for a concrete floor on which to build a shed/storage building. They not only arrived on time and as promised, but their staff was always very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Best of all, they did an exceptional job. In the end, the concrete floor turned out even better than we expected, and they also left our backyard spotless after packing up all their tools. We would definitely hire Concrete Coating Enterprises again and highly recommend them.”

Questions

Driveway Repair & Replacement FAQs

Should I repair my driveway or replace it?

Repair it if the slab is mostly sound and the trouble is cracks, joints or a few bad sections. Replace it if it is broken across most of its surface, has settled in several places or was poured on a poor base. We tell you which one your drive needs after we look at it.

Why does my driveway keep cracking?

Usually it is the ground, not the concrete. Expansive clay in parts of the Rogue Valley swells in wet winters and shrinks in dry summers, tree roots lift slabs from below, and freeze-thaw at higher elevations like Shady Cove and Prospect widens any crack that holds water. Sealing cracks and joints keeps water out, and replacing a section on a corrected base fixes the cause.

How much does driveway repair cost?

It depends on what the drive needs. Sealing cracks and joints is a smaller job than cutting out and pouring sections, and a full replacement is the largest, with access and haul-off also playing in. We look at the drive and give you a free estimate, and we accept credit cards.

Can you fix a section lifted by tree roots?

Yes. We have removed and replaced a driveway section heaved by tree roots, and that is the usual fix: cut the lifted section out at the joints, correct the base under it and pour new concrete flush with the rest.

Will a new section match the rest of my driveway?

Close, but rarely exactly. New concrete starts lighter than old concrete and blends in as it weathers. If an even color matters, a coating over the whole drive gives you one consistent surface, and coatings are our specialty.
