Pickleball & Sport Courts

Pickleball & Sport Courts done right the first time

Public pickleball courts fill up fast, and more homeowners want a court of their own: a full pickleball court in the backyard, a basketball half-court beside the shop, or one slab lined for both. Rural properties around the Rogue Valley often have the room. A court is unforgiving, though. If the slab is not flat, holds water or cracks across the lines, every game shows it, and hot, dry summers with strong UV fade and wear a surface that was not built for sun. It has to be built as a playing surface, not a patio.

Rogue Valley Concrete Pro builds the whole court in-house. That starts with clearing and grading, then a compacted gravel base with a rebar grid, the way our driveway and patio slabs go down, and a flat, carefully finished slab with an even slope so rain sheets off. Once the concrete has cured, we apply a textured acrylic court surface in your colors, paint the lines and set the net posts and basketball goal footings in concrete. Coatings are our specialty, so the surface gets the same care as the slab under it.

Customer reviews

What our customers say

  • “I hired Concrete Coating Enterprises LLC to do extensive concrete work on my family’s historic 1920s log cabin, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The cabin had significant cracks and issues with its original concrete floors. They removed the damaged sections, properly prepared the foundation, and poured new concrete in the kitchen and dining areas. They also created beautiful custom brick landings, curved steps, and charcoal-colored concrete walkways incorporating original natural stones from our family property. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are outstanding! What I appreciated just as much as the quality of their work was their excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism. They showed up when expected, kept me informed throughout the project, listened to my ideas, and worked with me to achieve the look I wanted. Renovating a cabin over 100 years old comes with unexpected challenges, and they handled the work with care, patience, and pride.”

  • “I had collected about three or four different estimates and Tim's price was lowest. I determined to see why it was lowest and see if I could endure that. Instead, what I discovered is Tim's job was way more than anybody else was offering instead of setting a 6 inch beam in my Spa slab. He said a 12 inch beam and he increased the rebar to half inch. But it really impressed me was another job he did for me on the sidewalk where the same as with the spa he used 4 inches of crushed rock compacted before he lay his forms out and then instead of using wire he actually use rebar. Basically he's an old-fashioned guy working in today's times where his work is more important than his profits.”

  • “Tim was undoubtedly our best choice for a concrete floor on which to build a shed/storage building. They not only arrived on time and as promised, but their staff was always very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Best of all, they did an exceptional job. In the end, the concrete floor turned out even better than we expected, and they also left our backyard spotless after packing up all their tools. We would definitely hire Concrete Coating Enterprises again and highly recommend them.”

Questions

Pickleball & Sport Courts FAQs

How do you build a court that holds up to Rogue Valley weather?

Base, drainage and the right surface. Expansive clay in parts of the valley moves between wet winters and dry summers, so we strip soft soil, build a compacted gravel base and reinforce the slab with rebar. Every court gets an even slope so rain runs off, and the acrylic surface is made for strong summer UV and rinses clean of wildfire-season ash.

How much does a backyard pickleball court cost?

It depends mostly on the court size, how much grading the site needs and the extras you pick, such as a second set of lines or a basketball goal. A flat yard with easy access is a simpler build than a sloped one. We give you a free estimate after walking the site.

How much space does a pickleball court need?

A regulation pickleball court measures 20 by 44 feet inside the lines, and players need room beyond that on every side. If your yard is tight, we can size the slab down and still lay out regulation lines with less room around them.

Do I need a permit, and how long does a court take?

Some cities, counties and HOAs require a permit or approval for a large slab, and we check with the city or Jackson or Josephine County and pull it when needed. Grading, forming and pouring move quickly in good weather, then the concrete needs to cure before the surfacing, lines and nets go on. We lay out the full schedule with your estimate.

Can you resurface an old court?

Yes. We clean the surface, repair cracks, and apply new acrylic court coating and fresh lines. If the slab itself has settled or broken up, we tell you before we start and quote the repair or a new slab.
