Concrete Slabs
Concrete Slabs done right the first time
A slab is usually the start of something else: a shed, a shop, a garage, a hot tub or a floor inside the house. If the slab is out of level, too light for the load or poured on loose dirt, everything you build on it inherits the problem. Expansive clay in parts of the Rogue Valley moves with the seasons, decomposed granite on hillside lots can wash out from under a slab that was not prepped, and freezes at higher elevations find any weak spot. The base and the steel decide how long a slab stays flat.
Rogue Valley Concrete Pro pours slabs across Southern Oregon, residential and commercial. Our work includes shed slabs, and customers mention a spa slab we built heavier than the other bids: a thicker beam, bigger rebar, a compacted crushed-rock base and rebar instead of wire mesh. At a historic 1920s log cabin we broke out damaged interior floors and poured new concrete. We excavate, build the base, set forms and steel, pour and finish, and we can coat the finished slab too. Our crew is licensed, bonded and insured, Oregon CCB #260341.

- 01
Shed and outbuilding slabs

Slabs built for the weight of a full spa, on a compacted crushed-rock base with rebar rather than wire mesh.
- 04
Interior floor slabs
Damaged interior floors broken out and new concrete poured, like the floors we replaced in a historic 1920s log cabin.

Compacted crushed rock under the slab, a rebar grid tied before the pour, and a grade that keeps water from running under the edges.

Customer reviews
What our customers say
“I had collected about three or four different estimates and Tim's price was lowest. I determined to see why it was lowest and see if I could endure that. Instead, what I discovered is Tim's job was way more than anybody else was offering instead of setting a 6 inch beam in my Spa slab. He said a 12 inch beam and he increased the rebar to half inch. But it really impressed me was another job he did for me on the sidewalk where the same as with the spa he used 4 inches of crushed rock compacted before he lay his forms out and then instead of using wire he actually use rebar. Basically he's an old-fashioned guy working in today's times where his work is more important than his profits.”

Spa slab & sidewalk · HomeAdvisor review of Concrete Coating Enterprises
“Tim was undoubtedly our best choice for a concrete floor on which to build a shed/storage building. They not only arrived on time and as promised, but their staff was always very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Best of all, they did an exceptional job. In the end, the concrete floor turned out even better than we expected, and they also left our backyard spotless after packing up all their tools. We would definitely hire Concrete Coating Enterprises again and highly recommend them.”

“This company is very professional and finished the job quickly. Tim is honest and knowledgeable as he addressed any questions in a timely manner. He even came back a couple days after the concrete hardened and pressure washed both areas at no cost. Thank you!”

Concrete pour · Google review of Concrete Coating Enterprises
“I hired Concrete Coating Enterprises LLC to do extensive concrete work on my family’s historic 1920s log cabin, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The cabin had significant cracks and issues with its original concrete floors. They removed the damaged sections, properly prepared the foundation, and poured new concrete in the kitchen and dining areas. They also created beautiful custom brick landings, curved steps, and charcoal-colored concrete walkways incorporating original natural stones from our family property. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are outstanding! What I appreciated just as much as the quality of their work was their excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism. They showed up when expected, kept me informed throughout the project, listened to my ideas, and worked with me to achieve the look I wanted. Renovating a cabin over 100 years old comes with unexpected challenges, and they handled the work with care, patience, and pride.”

Questions
Concrete Slabs FAQs
What does Rogue Valley soil do to a slab?
It can crack or tilt a slab poured on poor ground. Parts of the valley floor have expansive clay that swells when wet and shrinks when dry, hillsides often sit on decomposed granite that drains well but erodes, and higher elevations see freeze-thaw. We dig to firm ground, build a compacted crushed-rock base and reinforce with rebar so the slab handles the ground it sits on.
How much does a concrete slab cost?
It depends on the size, what the slab has to carry, how much digging and base the site needs, and how far the truck has to reach. A shed slab on a level, open spot is a smaller job than a shop slab on a slope. We give you a free estimate on site, and we accept credit cards.
Rebar or wire mesh?
Rebar. A tied rebar grid stays inside the slab where it does its work, while wire mesh often ends up pushed to the bottom during the pour. Customers mention a spa slab we built with rebar instead of wire mesh.
Can you level or fix a slab that has settled?
Often, yes. A settled slab in good shape can be lifted back to level by mudjacking or foam lifting, and cracks can be filled by epoxy injection or polyurethane. A slab that is broken up or was poured on a poor base is better broken out and poured new.
Can you pour a slab for a shed, shop or hot tub?
Yes. We pour shed slabs, shop and garage slabs and spa slabs, each built for what it will carry. A full spa is heavy, so its slab gets a compacted crushed-rock base and rebar, and customers mention a spa slab we built heavier than the other bids they got.
