Epoxy & Garage Floor Coatings

Epoxy & Garage Floor Coatings done right the first time

Bare garage concrete sheds dust, soaks up the first oil drip and turns blotchy after a few wet Southern Oregon winters of water, gravel and mud tracked in on tires. Plenty of homeowners roll on a store-bought epoxy kit, then watch it lift in tire-shaped patches the next summer when hot tires come in off the road. The goal is a garage floor that looks finished, mops clean, takes hot tires and the sun through an open door, and stays bonded to the slab instead of peeling.

Rogue Valley Concrete Pro installs garage floors as full coating systems, not a coat of paint. We diamond-grind or shot-blast the slab clean first, because that prep is what makes a coating stay down. Cracks and pits are filled, a primer and epoxy base coat go down, then a full broadcast of decorative flake, a metallic swirl or colored quartz sand, sealed under a clear UV-stable polyaspartic or polyurethane topcoat. Our job photos run from a home garage floor coating to commercial parking garage floors, and we use systems from Simiron, Sherwin-Williams and EcoPoxy.

What's included

Our epoxy & garage floor coatings services

  • 01

    Diamond grinding or shot blasting

We grind or blast the slab to open the surface and strip old sealer, paint and grime, so the coating bonds into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.

  • 02

    Crack and pit repair

Cracks are filled with epoxy or routed and sealed, and pits and spalled spots are patched and ground flush so they do not show through the finish.

  • 03

    Primer and epoxy base coat

A primer and an epoxy base coat go down first to lock onto the prepared slab and build the body of the floor.

  • 04

    Flake, metallic or quartz finishes

Pick a full broadcast of decorative flake that hides dirt, a metallic epoxy swirl, or a colored quartz sand system with built-in grip.

  • 05

    UV-stable clear topcoat

A clear polyaspartic or polyurethane topcoat seals the floor against hot tires, oil, chemicals and the sunlight that comes through an open garage door. Texture can be added for grip when the floor is wet.

  • 06

    Garages, shops and basements

We coat attached garages, detached shops on rural properties and basement floors, and can carry the coating up the stem wall for a clean edge.

How it works

How a garage floor coating job works

  1. 1

    Free on-site estimate

We look at the slab, check it for moisture, cracks and old coatings, and show you flake, metallic and quartz sand options.

  2. 2

    Grind or blast and repair

The floor is diamond-ground or shot-blasted, vacuumed and patched so it is clean, open and ready to bond.

  3. 3

    Base coat and decorative layer

We roll on the primer and epoxy base coat, then broadcast the flake or sand or work in the metallic finish.

  4. 4

    Topcoat and cure

The clear topcoat goes on last and gets a proper cure, and we tell you when you can walk on the floor and when you can park on it.

Customer reviews

What our customers say

  • “Quality work on time and budget. Great guys too!”

    Rick G.

Concrete floor coating · HomeAdvisor review of Concrete Coating Enterprises

  • “I hired Concrete Coating Enterprises LLC to do extensive concrete work on my family’s historic 1920s log cabin, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The cabin had significant cracks and issues with its original concrete floors. They removed the damaged sections, properly prepared the foundation, and poured new concrete in the kitchen and dining areas. They also created beautiful custom brick landings, curved steps, and charcoal-colored concrete walkways incorporating original natural stones from our family property. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are outstanding! What I appreciated just as much as the quality of their work was their excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism. They showed up when expected, kept me informed throughout the project, listened to my ideas, and worked with me to achieve the look I wanted. Renovating a cabin over 100 years old comes with unexpected challenges, and they handled the work with care, patience, and pride.”

  • “I had collected about three or four different estimates and Tim's price was lowest. I determined to see why it was lowest and see if I could endure that. Instead, what I discovered is Tim's job was way more than anybody else was offering instead of setting a 6 inch beam in my Spa slab. He said a 12 inch beam and he increased the rebar to half inch. But it really impressed me was another job he did for me on the sidewalk where the same as with the spa he used 4 inches of crushed rock compacted before he lay his forms out and then instead of using wire he actually use rebar. Basically he's an old-fashioned guy working in today's times where his work is more important than his profits.”

  • “Tim was undoubtedly our best choice for a concrete floor on which to build a shed/storage building. They not only arrived on time and as promised, but their staff was always very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Best of all, they did an exceptional job. In the end, the concrete floor turned out even better than we expected, and they also left our backyard spotless after packing up all their tools. We would definitely hire Concrete Coating Enterprises again and highly recommend them.”

  • “This company is very professional and finished the job quickly. Tim is honest and knowledgeable as he addressed any questions in a timely manner. He even came back a couple days after the concrete hardened and pressure washed both areas at no cost. Thank you!”

Questions

Epoxy & Garage Floor Coatings FAQs

Will a garage floor coating hold up to Rogue Valley heat and wet winters?

Yes, when the prep and the system are right. Hot summer tires soften and lift weak coatings, and wet winters bring water, gravel and mud in on every car, which is why we grind or blast the slab before anything goes down. A UV-stable topcoat also keeps the floor from yellowing where sun hits it through an open door.

How much does an epoxy garage floor cost?

It depends on the size of the garage, how much crack and surface repair the slab needs, and the finish you choose, since flake, metallic and quartz systems go on differently. A ground and coated floor costs more than a kit and holds up far better. We give you a free estimate after we see the floor, and we accept credit cards.

What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?

Epoxy builds a tough base and bonds well to ground concrete, but on its own it can yellow in sunlight. Polyaspartic and polyurethane topcoats stay clear and stand up better to UV, scratches and chemicals. We use epoxy for the base and a UV-stable clear coat on top, so the floor gets the strengths of both.

Can you coat a garage floor that is cracked or stained?

Yes. Cracks are filled with epoxy or routed and sealed, spalled spots are patched, and grinding or shot blasting takes off old paint, sealer and surface stains. If part of the slab is broken or heaved, we cut it out and pour new concrete before coating, so one crew handles the whole floor.

Can you coat a brand-new garage floor?

Yes, once the new concrete has had several weeks to cure. If you are building, we can pour the garage slab and come back to coat it, so one crew handles the floor from the gravel base to the topcoat.
